In accordance with Article 19 of Law No. 6215, published on March 29, 2011, and Article 8 added to Law No. 4562 on Organized Industrial Zones, Velimese Organized Industrial Zone was registered on May 4, 2012, with registration number 279.
Following the implementation of the rehabilitation commission's decisions, the area was removed from rehabilitation status and gained Organized Industrial Zone (OSB) status with the establishment protocol approved on October 11, 2013. The region is located within the borders of Ergene district and consists of industrial facilities established on an area of 1,055.41 hectares on both sides of the Corlu-Cerkezkoy Highway. Velimese OSB has an important logistical location, being 8 km from the railway in Corlu district, 35 km from the port, and 17 km from Corlu Ataturk Airport. The highway (TEM - E-80) passes through the OSB and has a toll booth connection.
There are a total of 483 parcels within the OSB. Of these, 449 parcels are allocated for industry, primarily for production. There is also a parcel belonging to a Wastewater Treatment Plant located approximately 20 km outside the zone boundaries. The occupancy rate is 62%.
The textile sector is predominantly located, followed by machinery, building materials, metal, chemical, and plastics sectors. With 25,000 employees across the Organized Industrial Zone, it continues to contribute to the growing national economy. The Velimese Organized Industrial Zone Domestic and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant has become operational, and the wastewater from companies in the region is treated at the facility.
