Finansbank A.S. was established on October 26, 1987, under the leadership of businessman Husnu Ozyegin and with 100 partners, in accordance with the provisions of the Banking Law and the Turkish Commercial Code. QNB Finansbank, which rapidly grew within the sector to rank among the top five private banks, was acquired in 2006 by the National Bank of Greece (NBG), Greece's largest bank. In June 2016, the bank became part of an international organization after being acquired by Qatar National Bank S.A.Q. (QNB Group)—Qatar's largest bank and a leading financial institution in the Middle East and Africa region. In line with its principal shareholder QNB Group's vision of becoming a global brand, the bank rebranded as QNB Turkiye as of October 2024.
