Originally used as a military recruitment office and later as the clubhouse of a local sports club, the building was restored and opened as a museum on June 16, 2007. It is a private museum founded by Onur Akmanlar and Murat Soylemez.
The Gallipoli War Museum was established to tell the story of the Gallipoli War, a war that witnessed perhaps the greatest tales of heroism in history, revealing aspects of its history hidden in a corner of memory. The museum displays over 7000 items; each item holds a different memory, each related to the war. The traces of the war, sometimes reflected in a toothbrush, sometimes in a perforated canteen, are brought back to light by the Gallipoli War Museum.
Open 6 days a week, between 09:30 and 19:00, the Gallipoli War Museum, with its spine-chilling atmosphere, shares these memories with you and invites you to these magical lands to encounter the striking traces of an epic rather than just a war.
Collection

This collection, assembled over many years with great sacrifices, has returned to its rightful place in the glorious land of Gallipoli after many years. The entire collection belongs to Onur AKMANLAR and, in a first for Turkiye, has been registered with the Topkapi Museum.
The collection, with its diverse range of war objects, brings to life the hardships, struggles, joys, loves, and hatreds of the soldiers during the Gallipoli Campaign – in short, all kinds of human experiences.
Among the exhibited artifacts, it is possible to find thousands of objects and materials, from soldier buttons and epaulets to bombs, weapons, letters, and glass bottles.
The Gallipoli War Museum is an important cultural stop that should definitely be seen by every visitor who wants to feel the spirit of Gallipoli more closely and witness the human stories behind the scenes of the war.
3 Key Points
Personal Items and Daily Life

Personal items used by soldiers, such as toothbrushes, shaving kits, and food containers with their names engraved, reflect the hardships of daily life and individual existence on the front lines. These objects are invaluable resources for understanding. They show that war is not only about grand strategies, but also about the personal dramas of thousands of people.
Original Letters and Documents

The soldier's letters and diaries displayed in the museum convey the emotional atmosphere on the front lines, the longing for family, and the love of homeland in their most sincere form. These written legacies are important historical documents that reveal the resilience and hope of the human spirit even under the devastating effects of war.
Colliding Bullets and Unique Relics

Rare war relics, such as bullets that collided in mid-air and riddled canteens, embody the intensity and striking nature of the conflicts. These artifacts create a powerful impact by physically conveying the horrors of war and the dangers faced by the soldier.
