The economy of Hayrabolu district is traditionally based on agriculture and livestock farming.
In agriculture, wheat, barley, sunflower, and sugar beet are cultivated, and farming is carried out using modern technology. In recent years, irrigation farming has been introduced, and farmers are being informed about and provided with necessary assistance for second crop harvesting.
The district is quite advanced in the manufacturing of agricultural machinery. As one of Turkiye's agricultural machinery production bases, a large portion of the agricultural machinery produced in the district is sold throughout the country. Exports are made to 30 countries in the sector. Production and employment in the sector make a significant contribution to the district's economy.
The district has large amounts of lignite coal in the vicinity of Haskoy, Umurca, Karaburcek, and Cerkezmusellim neighborhoods, and natural gas deposits in the northeast of the district, in the vicinity of Yorukler and Bayramsah neighborhoods.
