Inece - İnece - Ениджия - Ινέτσε
Inece takes its name from the Bulgarian word "Novpit" or "Yenice," meaning "new road." In various geographical maps, the village's names appear as Enidjiya, Enidje, Enidjiya, or Inedje. The village was founded by Bulgarians. After the Balkan Wars of 1913, the Bulgarian population left the village. During the Ottoman conquest of the Kirklareli region in the 14th century, there was no evidence found regarding the existence of Inece.
On December 20, 1930, Inece experienced an unforgettable day. After completing his visit to Kirklareli, Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk proceeded toward Edirne. As he passed through Inece, the people of Inece blocked the road, giving them the opportunity to have Ataturk briefly step onto Inece's soil and converse with him. On February 26, 1954, Inece Village was granted municipal status by a decision of the Council of Ministers.
